Rough day at the gas pump

I could not believe that I had to pay $4.39 for gas today!

I'm trying to wean mine off 93, I put in a tank of 89 this time to see what happens. I hear it makes little or no difference.

Others who have tried 87? It's the only non-premium alternative at Costco.

Oh boohoo.
Filled up today.
£1.19 a litre, that's $2.36, that equals $8.94 for a US gallon.
That's double what you pay.
You have it good but you just don't know.

Soap box warning........

Why has NO ONE in power, or those that want to be in places of power, talked anything about alternative fuels to tie us over until other technology is ready?? For my own amusement and in a very unscientific way I did some internet searches for alternative gasolines. I read about a gasoline alternative made from coal....and as one proponent of this said...’we are the Saudi Arabia of coal’. It was developed during WWII but as soon as it was perfected the war was over and who would buy a alternative gasoline for 50 cents a gallon? Even with no advances in technology and inflation would this not be viable today? And then the German synthetic fuel....way to costly in 1940's America....but even if it was $5 a gallon now I’d rather buy it than send my cash overseas!?!?! There are so many alternatives it makes your head spin. Another one I liked was a mini turbine powered generator running on anything flammable that kept batteries charged on a small electric car.....

Sorry...I’ll put the soap box away now......
