We didn't have one on the 08, but it was an early car.

My 08 has this sticker. In fact I have kept the Mobil 1 oil as my choice of oil every 5K change and filter.
Half Pint

JUN 08 built, with the sticker. That said scVAB uses bulk Castrol Syntec 5W-30 with Penske's specific permission. My second and third home doses have been M1 5W-30 (API SM, ACEA A5, ILSAC GF-4).

Does this meen every smart comming into the US has had the engine esentialy "Cleaned" of manufacturing gunk. I assume all of those engines were drivin on the smart lot, and on and off the boats. so any of those small shavings of metal folks are woried about have alreasy been removed before the cars are delivered.

If this is so, then all those folks who beleive they should change their oil for the first time within the first 1000, or 500 or 100 miles to clean it out have been wasting their time. It was already done by smart.

That would have been nice to know about 6 months ago. I changed at 600 miles figuring that it was the factory oil. Better safe than sorry. I have been using 0W30 since it sits outside all winter and it gets a little cold up here.
