Got a Smart today and was wondering where I can get that bike rack you have.

Cheers, Max

I'm trying to think of how I will carry my Tandem with the smart. My tandem bike is about 8" shorter than the smart!

The bike rack that everyone is posting pics of will not fit the 451 model. I have already ask Smart. HAte to see anyone buy one on ebay from the UK or else where.

I posted on another thread...spoke with the manager of parts at my dealership (Denver) and he said they are getting roof mount bikes racks in a couple of weeks and the back mount isn't available till fall and will be around $600 and this will be less. Anyone else heard of this from their dealership? I am assuming it is a Smart product.

Interesting

This is interesting since page 162 of the smart manual says roof racks are not allowed.

I'm one of those people that has a bicycle worth more than their current car and I have to say that as a cyclist, the two bike system is ridiculously expensive.

Thankfully Yakima now has their fit kit available. I will use my existing rack on my smart ( when I get one ), and it will cost me only for the Q clips to do so - $60. Welcome News to me.

That, and the fact that the manual specifically says NOT to mount a roof rack...

Bike rack is installed ... check it out here:
MichaelJ/tverb ... think about why and you'll see the Yakima rack is fine.
Gurps ... the single hangs off the back a bit ... but I looked at the "Sidewinder" an it looks like you can balance out the length pretty well. That's kindofa nice system how it swivels at the front ... sure would make it easier if the regular racks had that!
