I don't know, my other car is a Ford Escort wagon which has lasted for 11 years just fine with regular maintenance and brake work a few years back. I'd planned to sell it after I got the smart but I just didn't have the heart.

My first car was a 1977 Ford Mustang II Ghia. The only good thing about that car is the fact that Jaclyn Smith drove one like it in the show(Mine was turquoise, hers was beige, Charlies Angels. Other than that, the car really lived up to it's crap car reputation.

Though, my coolest vehicle was my first: 1979 F-150. Couldnt even lock the doors but no one broke in to steel my $400 stereo system. Guess it lookedlike junk so no one care.

Still talk of a VW plant in TN; currently only the VW Routan is built here, in a Chrysler plant that used to make the Pacifica. That's because the Routan is a thinly disguised Chrysler Minivan.

As for the Focus, the originals were great cars IMHO, including the SVT model. The new ones don't seem as sporty but offer a lot of features and Ford prices them right.
