HOT! I love seeing oddball cop cars from other countries. Thanks for digging these up!

Too cool! We are reserving a white / black one for my daughter and have thought about doing the police car theme just for fun.

The Sci-Fi TV show 'Dark Angel' used 450's as police cars.....if anyone has the DVD you can frame capture one! The show was one of the reasons I wanted a Smart!

I would never use a Smart for a PC.
I would rather walk.
Give me a big old Vic anyday.

On the other hand, if you're chasing a perp down some narrow alleyway, you can stay in your smart, where with the Crown Vic, I guess you better start running! I guess every thing has it's place. There are police on scooters, bicycles, motorcycles, waverunners, and now add smart fortwos!

But, in most regions where big cars reign supreme, you've gotta have the HP to take them down! I totally agree with you!
I also don't know if you'd want the perp you just apprehended to be sitting in the seat next to you while you're heading back to the station.

Sitting in a Vic, I am afforded a great deal of protection if someone wants to start filling my car with bullets from the front. The Smart has nothing to offer in this regard.
If I need to use my car with force........the Smart simply is not designed for this.
However, as an inter-city beat runabout, it may excel. Just as the bicycle patrols do!
