Looks like we need to see some 'sale prices' from these dealers to entice buyers. Here, in Mexico, we're also suffering from the financial crisis and I have noticed that our dealer, in Guadalajara, suddenly has stock that he never had before. There are even five new Smarts at a sub-agent's lot at Lake Chapala. Of course, financing isn't usually done here, so cash is king. They even try to get me to trade my 2007 Passion but I have no interest in doing that; not just for the financial reason but I'm also not sure I would want the 'new version/451' in any case.
