A couple of Brabus' available

I was in visiting the smart center of latham today (albany, NY area) and I noticed that they have 2 Brabus models for direct sale available.
One is a black/black Passion and the other is a silver/silver Cabrio.

$19K and $22K respectively. Both nice looking cars....especially with the wheels/tires that they have.

You know I find it rather odd that a smart centers would have any Brabus models for sale. I stopped by my dealer (Bloomfield Hills) a couple of days ago to inquire about the goofy goings on with the DDE giving me dates and then none. He was real vague about when I should receive my silver/silver cab. He said sometime in mid to late spring. He told me that Roger Penske's Brabus had just recently arrived. Also he showed me the papers for another lucky recipient about to get his in the next couple of days. I asked if his display model (a silver/silver cab) was for sale. He replied that they have no intention of selling it anytme soon. I also asked about other dealers and selling outside their market areas. They aren't supposed to do that, but I read here every day that that practice continues. I am not truly sure they really know what is going on.

He came by having two '09' Brabus smarts already. I guess they were orphaned but not sure. You would also think it would be in everyones best interest for dealers to work together to fill customer's needs......

In any event, I do hope you get yours soon. You will not regret the wait once you have the car. I still totally enjoy driving my smartie around and have not had any trouble with it after 10k miles.....well....nothing noteworthy anyway.

It appears that each dealership got 2 - a coupe and a cab - for display purposes so people could see what they're ordering. Now that all of the slots have been filled and Brabuses are starting to be delivered, some dealers are selling the demos, and that makes perfect sense to me. Keeping the cars on display when no one can get them is just going to tick off potential customers, and telling them they can't even by the demonstrater isn't going to help. I'd rather get them out of there. The dealer gets the money, two happy customers get cars, and you avoid hurt feelings and aggravation.

I had a reservation for a black brabus coupe, but my dealer called me asking if I wanted to buy the demo they had coming in. They are also looking to sell their silver brabus cabrio. I guess it depends on the dealer.

This is what I have come to understand. There is no rhyme or reason to the way the dealers respond to the customer. Just a thought.
