smart center Tyson's Corner
I am on SCOA every day?
I have many, many stories, weird, odd, kinky and g-rated.
About 2 years ago the doors to the showroom "whoosed" open and I gave my standard "Welcome to the smart center greeting".
Cutest little girl standing there. First guess would be 10 years old?
I asked "How can I assist you today?"
She said she wanted to learn more about smart cars?
(Side note, we are in a dealership group that has MB, Porsche, Audi, and Aston Martin: so it is not unusual for kids to wander in while mom and/or dad are looking at the other cars)
I gave her the whole first timers presentation: safety, mileage, maint, etc.
While she was sitting in the drivers seat we got the seat adjusted to where she could reach the wheel and almost reach the pedals.
She asked if there was anything that could adjust the pedals closer to her feet?
I have had customers in the past that required "pedal blocks" so I mentioned that.
Turns out this cute little 10 year old is actually a 35 year old woman with a medical condition that makes her look like a little kid.
She was so impressed that I didn't judge her on appearance that she bought the car at full MSRP without negotiating (We love customers like that).
At the other end of the spectrum, I was doing a demo of the smart in a local shopping mall, and I saw Gheorghe Muresan (Washington Wizards Pro Basketball player) walking by.
I actually got him to sit in a cabrio and got some pics. He is 7'7" and fits behind the wheel of the cab with the top down.
OK now for the a slightly less g-rated one.
I had a very attractive (think supermodel) in a light, flowing, gauzy type dress come in to look around.
She sat in a cabrio, then in a pure, then in a passion, and asked all the right questions.
When she got out of the passion, she slammed the door and walked away, her dress was caught in the door and stayed with the car! ! ! !
She was left standing in the middle of my showroom wearing just a pair of sandals and her purse! ! !
I was able to grab a car cover and loan it to her before anyone noticed.
Highlite of the decade for me.
