All our inventory is listed on smartcenterbirmingham.com under new. If it would help anyone I will put the list on here as well. The reason I say all colors was that we really had all colors. The only color we are missing now is grey . I have no greys in stock but the next truck will have a grey orphan on it. If any of you interested and will pm me or list a car that you are interested in I will match it with what we have or coming in. RiverGringo: Im not sure how much you know about smart but there is "suppose " to be one price across the board no matter what dealership you go to. That means if you want a blue passion with comfort package you would pay the same price as here or Atlanta Dallas ...etc. The only thing that would be different is the dealer fees. If you would like enticing sale prices you should contact smart.
Well I can honestly say that when we first started out the only thing we added to our orphans was a chrome package and cargo cover. We soon discovered that not everyone liked the chrome package so we stopped putting it on there. We also found out that a majority of our customers bought the cargo cover whether we added it or not so we stopped that as well.
The prices seem to be too high at the dealers right now. You can buy many used cabrio's for thousands less than a brand new passion. Many of the used ones I saw for less than $14,000 had less than 6,000 miles on them. Barely even broken in. By the time you add all of the dealer fees and stuff on top of the MSRP's they are charging, it will be too much money. I used to hate buying used, but now it looks like I will have to. I just can't see paying $17,000 to $18,000 for a passion the way I want it when I am finding like-new cabrio's for $13,900 equipped the same way without added dealer fees.
It's a shame that you can't wheel and deal with smart. No sales. No rebates. Their attitude, "take it or leave it."
I was at the smart dealer for 3 solid hours last week. Not one single customer walked in the door all that time. I was the only one there. I don't get it.

I'm sorry you do not like the fair value pricing smart has set up. If you like to wheel and deal I do have some cabriolets I can Quote you $3000 higher and you can wheel and deal me down to the fair value msrp. That way you can tell all your friends you took me for $3000. Roger Penske form what I have been told payed msrp for his smart car so why shouldn't you? I think customers appreciate the fair value pricing. First it eliminates shopping around which takes time. I know my time is valuable. So if I know no matter if I call up Jackson Atlanta Knoxville it is all going be the same price. I don't have to waste phone calls or visits. That saves me time. You can buy your car on-line or auctions or wherever you like. I would rather buy it from someone who will back up their product and may or might not disappear once they have my money. Our inventory is on the website and you can check it out.
You're comparing apples to oranges. I am talking about buying a used smart fortwo vs. buying a new one. It's not like buying a used smart that has 40,000 miles on it. I would say a good 90% of the ones I find all over AutoTrader.com have less than 5,000 to 10,000 miles on them. Most of them are so clean and like-new that you cannot tell the difference between a brand new one vs. a used one unless you looked at the odometer and saw the miles.
Apparently a large amount of people who buy these cars don't seem to be happy owning one and sell them within a week to a few months of taking delivery. It's a real shame. They are hurting the new car market making it harder for dealers to sell their cars. They should pass some kind of law making it illegal to sell a new car right after buying it and force all people to keep their cars at least 3 years to keep from diluting the market. That would help you dealers out.

Good luck.
