Could you please tell me what area you cover?

A couple of us live down in East Central Illinois...about 90 miles from Indianapolis and about 150 miles from you. We are wondering if smart is sticking us with the Chicago region because it is the same State, even if you are farther, or if they are sending us to the closer dealership. Also, anything you can tell me about aftermarket installation of fog lamps and alarm system would be great. Is it available? Cost?? Part numbers?? Thank you very much.

Sorry it took me long to get back. The forum would not let me post, it kept aksing me to log on over and over.
Anyways, you are not in my area of responsibility. My area goes from south end Lake Cook rd. and Lake Michigan on the east, thru north end Racine/Lake Michigan. West thru Rockford southend and Beloit northend. There are a few exceptions to those boundries but that is the majority of it. You can have a car delivered to the dealer of your choice by ordering thru smartusa.com and requesting where you want it shipped.

A friendly informational warning to anyone without perfect credit who lives in the area serviced by Smart Center- Lake Bluff:

Smart Center-Lake Bluff refuses to take Capital One Blank Checks(tm)

...because it seems they dont feel like doing the paperwork Capital One requires.

They may say the reason is they fear non-payment from Capital One, but that is clearly not the case. If you want one of the best loan rates for your good credit, save yourself a couple thousand: take Tony's advice and have your Smart shipped to a dealer with better payment options.

Additionally, the max this dealer will allow you to pay with any combination of credit cards is $2000.00 so forget your dream of racking up those points.

Here's a thought: write yourself a loan (with the Cap1 check) and pay Knauz in cash. You get miles and no hassel from the dealer.

Thats a great idea, unfortunately part of Capital One's deal is that they only pay out to franchised car dealers. You cant deposit your check with your bank.

Loeber motors/ smart won't take Capital One either.Wouldn't even look at it. Said it wasn't a "simple interest" loan even though I pointed it out to him. I financed through them and then re-financed thru a credit union I was in the process of joining when I got the call for an orphan.
