Valued customer vs just a number

Dun,
When I emailed the dealer last week, that a car not due untill next Aug.,Oct, if it arrived befor Jan. 1st,could be a hardship since it may involve our IRA. Instead of saying the car wasn't in production yet,so not to worry, got a copy of the rules and regulations which I read and understood befor sending the 99 bucks.
Would have rather heard ,'we will be glad to work with you when the car arrives',instead of you get 30 days to pick it up,it can't be held even if you put half down.Of coarse the time is a moot point since Monday is December, we shall see.

Just my .02 here, but the dealers know very little about when the cars will actually arrive. That said, if they know the car is in production they should be able to supply a VIN and give you a fairly accurate ETA.

I'd recommend looking into a "bridge loan" from your bank or credit union if the car does show up before 1 January. With any luck, your first payment would be due in January, by which point you could get into your other funds and end up at worst making only one payment on the loan.

Lindon bridge

Thanks for the 2 cents. Actually bridge loans are good when they work. Did that when we moved here. Took our camper back to Az. to wait for our buyer to close.Unfortunatly, the tytle company missed the loan and did not pay it off.
In short,we caught it,because we went to the company before leaving town to get the papers, and went to the bank and they,'took it from one pocket and put it in the other'.
Not to worry,we will get an equity loan, just to cover our selves. Have another house for sale, but probly not befor the car gets here. Will beat them out of a car loan but, isn't that what it is about?
As far as production is concerened, don't you think, with the long time line involved, and attrition, they might juggle the vins. a little, when they get to port? They have to have some exact matches, and the ones that don't match are orphans in the storm. But are still wanted by someone.
