Hello to all the other N'awlins Smarts out there. I've been on the boards here since around August when we took delivery of our 09' Metallic Gray Passion Coupe, but just came across this thread. I've seen a few other Smarts around as well, mostly on the East Bank. (I live in Belle Chasse). I hope sales continue to increase here locally.... it's concerning to me that there seems to be so few Smarts on the road around here. We need our dealership to be successful so that we'll have a local place to go for parts, service, etc. By the way, so far I've upgraded the radio, added an amp, speakers and subwoofer, tinted the windows, and had a security system with remote start installed. My wife and I enjoy driving it more than our other 'daily driver' cars. Yall' have fun and be safe, Mark.

There are a few New Orleans people on this board.. maybe a few more over on the smart USA insider forum at smart USA insider
There are two Louisiana "Groups" and one specific New Orleans group over there... Not too much activity.. Though they have been trying to get up some group activities.
I know that "Pops" (who frequents both boards) is in your neck of the woods (Algiers anyway)... I am on the east bank

I too am concerened for the dealership.. they don't even put the smarts out in front on the the street anymore... and when I went in there for parts a few weeks ago it seemed that they had turned it into mostly a Mercedes dealership.... Lets hope their sales pick up and we see many more smarts on the streets of New Orleans.

Welcome smartmnm! Always glad to have another smart owner in the area. As tvengineer mentioned, I am in Algiers, off of Woodland. I had not been aware of the 'shrinking' dealership. I have not had a reason to go back (no problems is a good thing right?) over there. It's a catch-22, the economy is bad so a smart is the perfect vehicle, but people also put the brakes on larger purchases during times like this. Hopefully in 2010 things will pick up again.

I'm heading out to Rayne LA, from Brooksville, FL on sunday......my first "road trip".....I could take the 2000 Volvo V70 we have here for the winter, but what fun would that be? Hopefully no 50+MPH crosswinds enroute.
any smarties, in Lafayette or Rayne area want to get together and say hi?

Saints win.. and I saw TWO other smarts tonight!...
One a red / sliver parked at a store at the corner of Washinton and Broad.. then later I was parked at St.JOE's bar on Magazine.. when I came out .. a white / black was parked behind me... anyone here????'
