We did really enjoy the Bay area a lot, it was the highlight of our trip. I could imagine living in San Francisco as it's so beautiful out there, the city is very well structured and on a human scale.
We drove through Oakland in the light blue metalic B 200 once on the freeway on August 25th.....we took my Aunt from Santa Cruz to dinner in SF that evening, via Hayward (visit to my uncle's grave). I guess you missed it, LOL. Here is a photo on the El Camino Real where the B 200 makes a cameo. The car doesn't have the three passengers in it because I lost my camera at Pismo Beach and had to drive from Beverly Hills to there and back solo to retrieve it. d'oh!:
