As I said, I picked mine up a couple weeks back. I could not be happier. Got the first road test by driving the freeway home from Charlotte. No problem at all. Was actually going faster than I thought. This may not be normal, but I got 48mpg and 41 on the first two fillups.
Great service from the dealership. Good luck to those behind me. Mine is silver on black trim.

Just got my Smart - black on black on black! My wife said it looks more "manly" that way! Love the ride and the drive. It's just plain fun. I really enjoyed the sales experience at South Charlotte Smart because ALL of the salesman will stop to help and keep the deal rolling.
Very good service so far. I am also interested in joining a local chapter.

Does anyone know if there are any rental companies in Charlotte, NC that rent the SMART Fortwo? I travel (fly) to Charlotte regularly and have been stuck renting things I don't care to drive. I have a 2009 Passion in Pittsburgh and hate to drive anything else.

It would appear that of the rental car companies only AVIS has the smart available "in select locations" not to include Charlotte, NC.

Oddly AVIS desn't feature a picture of a 451 on their website but rather a 450 . . .

Locally I don't know of any of the bottom feeder car rental companies who have smarts.

Sorry but my "seat time" of 7 hours RT plus gas is worth more than $80.
