Has anyone local driven by the dealership lately? How's the construction progress?
Drove by today 11/8, but didn't stop. No real change. Brown construction paper covering the windows. Some gold painted street numbers on the windows. No signs or any indication it was a auto dealer, let alone a soon to open Smartcenter . Two red cones in the parking lot which were new, but otherwise it looks like an empty store and lot.
Ah, Brabus. I always hoped they would do that here, and.. they are! Can't wait till Walnut Creek opens.. that's where I did my second round of test drives during the street smart tour (at Whole Foods, for those that braved the long lines .. and scored the free water and gift cards!)
Thinking they would open December1st, I drove by today. ~ sigh
A little stucco work on the outside, some plywood on the columns and some of the paper is down so you can see inside. Still unfinished. No ceiling tiles, floor undone. A rolling construction scaffolding cart inside.
Given the pace of work I'd be surprised if they were to open before the end of the year.
Rode past on BART tonight and the paper is down and the smart sign is lit. Didn't see any cars and the "showroom" still looks like they are unpacking the furniture.

Stopped by Walnut Ck tonight. They had 28 cars delivered today and possibly will be "officially" opened tomorrow Wed 12/17/09. I did get to look at the two cars they have inside. One yellow 08 Cabrio and one 09. All the delivered cars were 09s.
