Va Beach dealership

I'd like to take the time to thank David Bennette for the fast and courteous service in the purchase of my '09 Passion.

I agree...but those wingnuts 2 doors down need to manners taught to them...stuck on themselves BMW arrogant jerks...they almost cost Dave the deal!

Dave is an awesome guy! And considering I have 12 miles on my odo...I think it may be a while (hopefuly) before I will need there service

Yup, Dave delivered mine over a year ago. In-and-out. The BMW/MINI guys (almost) next door are also Checkered Flag Motors group - but different I guess. Some of the smart maintenance is actually done over there, but by the smart techs.

Something I'm not happy with

Been loving my '09 car but recently found something I'm not happy with. The car has 5,500 miles on it and I bought it in August. Why is the maintenance indicator on? Since I bought the car with 30 miles on it why wasn't the indicator reset? If I bought that car in November would you expect me to take off from work and bring it in for a $100+ maintainance visit in January?

The indicator marks Millage and time. 10,000 miles or 1 year from when the oil went in or something like that. Chances are the oil is a year old and could stand to be changed.

I realize that, I change the oil in all my company vehicles and if they are laid up for a while I change the oil upon putting them back in service, even with only a few miles on them. At 6-7 months when sold I would have changed the oil if I was the service manager, as a service to the customer.

What's the build date on your car? Sounds like it's reached the one year mark already.

I certainly agree regarding favorable comments on Virginia Beach dealership. Terry, the service manager, had my car in and out in 25 minutes last week for replacement of some kind of emission control valve. Talked to guy who did the work and he said that failure of the original valves (on 08 Smart) was fairly common but the replacement valve has been modified and appears to work just fine. Scan guage indicated OBD code for this failure is P0410-- Secondary Air Injection System Fault. If you get engine light and can read this code it is not a super urgent fix and you do not need to be in a huge hurry to get to the dealership.

Mine did the same thing at 7,000 miles and 10 months since I had her. It is a time interval and/or a milage interval, whichever gets you first. The only part of the service that I had performed was the oil change.
