Geez ....

My appologies for Friday Night and Julian run, but El Smart Car was on a Flatbed going to the dealer on Friday afternoon.

The button on the shift knob would not work and therefore no shifting.

Will post repair.

Looks like a great run.

Hopefully next time.

I've read about that issue in other forums here. Much like the air sensor, a common and relatively easy to fix problem.

At least I hope it's easy (and quick) for you!

Sorry to hear about that. Should be a quick and easy fix though!

I almost found myself stuch at Billy Goat's Tavern in Mt Shasta City halfway between home and San Francisco last weekend. The shifter button would *not* depress. Faced with the nast possibilities, I braced the back of the shifter with palm pressed hard and gave a fistful of whack to the botton side of the shifter. It came loose!

It's one thing to have your car let you down around town, but halfway on a 5 hour drive? I think the 2 nearest dealers were more than 5 hours away (Smart Center Portland & Smart Center Sacramento).
