I reserved mine down in Hillcrest back in June of '07 after taking test drive. Somehow didn't get the config email which caused a 2-3 month delay in the process. However, I went to MB of SD and found an orphan yesterday. They moved 85 units out of there last month (June) and plan are targeting 75 for this month (July). Still have the one I reserved coming in Aug to Nov this year. What do I do with that one?? Now I am considering an extended warranty as I have up to a year to decide.
Not sure how to post photos, but it it is the same color as the one in your post. It had some extras that I didn't originally order. Like leather seats, auto lite, rain detector for windshield wiper (in San Diego?), fog lamps, etc. But, my daughter likes this color better than the white and black one I have on order.
Having only driven this car in the test drive I was more motivated by gas mileage, air pollution, and parking than the actual driving of the machine. However, now having driven it a couple of days, I am very impressed with the way it handles. The slow shifting is already becoming a thing of the past. Hey, this reminds me of the way I was taught to drive 40 years ago. The only complaint I have at this point is the loss of my anonymity. I went to Wal-Mart off of Clairemont Mesa Blvd. yesterday. As I merged into the off ramp a guy in a pick-up truck ushered me over ahead of him by holding is upturned hand and extended arm out his window; smiling. It was kinda demeaning, but then he gave me a thumbs up; which was cool. Then as I entered the back way through the Starbucks parking lot three people sitting at a patio table pointed and stared at me. As I was coming home I was sitting at a U-turn inside lane #1 position at a red light. A guy turning left in front of me (from my right to left) almost ran into the raised center divider because he was staring at me. He woke up and corrected just in time. These and other head turning stares give evidence that I am no longer alone in the world.....spooky...........
Get used to the attention. The cars seem to get 'rock star' status. Waved on in front of others, crowds, near-miss accidents....
I saw a guy run a red light as he looked at my car.
The other day I had a guy run out in front of me with his hands up as I was driving--nope, wasn't parked, I was moving. Crazy s.o.b.! He "just wanted to ask me a few questions"
I was at a red light coming out of a shopping center with a main highway crossing in front. A car went by and the person in the passenger front seat was taking a picture of me!! I also had a guy run across a parking lot (Wal-Mart!) chasing me screaming "Miss! Miss!" When he got to my car (after I pulled out of traffic) he said "Where can I get one of these?" Unbelievable!!!
