Just thought I'd pop in and say hello and happy to be a smart owner!! Since I go down to San Diego much more than I go to the coast (L.A.) thought I'd say my howdy's here. (smile)
Looks like this will be a nice site to share smart stories with.
Cheers!!
Steve
P.S. Posted a few shots of my new baby over in the gallery.
those of us that have their smart cars welcome you to the group and those of us that DON'T have their smart yet and still have a 12-18 month wait are simply JEALOUS AS HELL!!!

Steve works for me. I was extremely lucky to be able to get my hands on a car as quickly as I did. I'm still not exactly sure how it happened but I'm not complaining much either.

Steve - Very nice looking smart! I especially like the black wheels with the black tridion! And, it looks like you installed a GPS in place of the radio..am I correct? Good luck with your new car, and although I'm from Northern CA, there's a large contingent of smart owners (and future owners) from the San Diego area who I'm sure will give you a more personal welcome! Check out the San Diego chapter (and the LA chapter, for that matter!).
Factor 9 - Thanks for the warm welcome..... I'm already enjoying the camaraderie as well as the car! Yes I do have a GPS installed in place of the radio... but it's an all in one package deal. GPS...my Satellite radio so I don't miss any of my beloved Cubs games... Blue tooth since CA. is going to hands free cell phone use in July. As soon as you start up the car and switch on the radio.... the car picks up the telephone operation over the radio and speakers.... seems to work pretty slick. The unit also has a DVD player but I'm not sure why you'd want to watch a movie in the car. (Parking brake must be set for DVD operation) It's also a regular AM/FM radio.... but I started listening to XM a couple of years ago and very rarely ever listen to regular radio anymore. I haven't yet signed up for any of the "Traffic re-routing" services as I've never used those as yet..... I usually just plan my commute around traffic times.
Thanks for the well wishes.... sure seems like a friendly bunch of Smart people here. (smile)
