Julian or Temecula?

Hello smartists, smartians, and would-be smarties,
Now that summer is underway I have been thinking that it's time for another smart club of San Diego event. So, what do you all think? Julian or Temecula? Those of us centrally located could meet at the smart center and caravan to our chosen destination. We could even invite the other So Cal groups to our little gathering.

Of course we could chose another destination but I wanted to throw those two possibilities out there for consideration.

I like the idea of grouping up at the SD Smart Center... Either would be fine with me.

When Shanna, when?
The Julian ride would be nice, but Temecula would make it more available to the Riverside, OC, LA people.
Can we do both eventually? Do a large group trip to Temecula and later another trip to Julian.

My car only has 200 miles on it so it's still in the break in period. I think that a trip to Julian may not be the best thing for it. I voted for Temecula.

Palomar Mountain...

This is a really great ride and superbly scenic. Pretty good location for Riverside smarties, too. A really great day of it can combine Palomar Mtn and a trip to Julian, a trip Sophia & I made a few weeks ago.

Well, I was thinking first or second weekend in August. How does that sound. And yes, definitely do both trips--the real question is which destination first?

Considering that in August it is likely to pretty warm, which option is the cooler of the choices on the table (I like the idea of Palomar, too)?

I will be up in the Tahoe/Reno area 8/1 - 8/11. With the smart of course.
I'll be driving all the way around Lake Tahoe. I'll get some good pictures.

Temecula is too hot in August. I'd head for the mountains. Julian's wonderful, Palomar's cool too. But I think Julian would be an 'easier' trip - both on the car and location.
