When you hit it with twelve pounds of boost, make sure you crawl underneath and get us good pics of the rods out the side of the block.........

Oooh! Oooh! I have a recommendation. I would use the dinky FMIC off a Mazdaspeed Miata mounted in the space on the bottom of the trunk floor just ahead of the muffler supplemented by an Aquamist system.

What are you running for engine management? Are you still running the stock injectors and pump?

Hey DavidV!

I'll definitely check that out, but if the Aquamist is anohter one of those water spray thingy that I have to refill, then.. that's the type of system I was avoiding and trying to design something differently where it's self sustaining

Stock fuel pump but higher flow injectors with spacers on the fuel rail to accomodate the larger injectors and a piggy back ECU. If your around today I should be in the shop and you can come drop by call me first though to make sure I'm there

I've reached the highest so far of 188*F on the Intake Air Temp =P... that.. is HOT! Today I just drove it in the morning with an IAT of 60-80*F before it heated up and... there's a world of difference... Having the air temp come down without using laughing gas spraying on the intercooler or CO2 or any depletible medium to me is always good.. I mean who knows it could be my own version of "Stage 3" haha..

I'm also available on Saturday afternoon if you guys want to move it to then.. and maybe by then I'll have my adjustable boost gauge installed and we can crank it up to 12 lbs of boost and reach 150 WHP

Cheers!

Yeah, I wrote that kinda early in the morning. I see my brain was faster than my fingers, so entire words got dropped from the sentence. But you got the gist of it.

Yes, a Peltier cooler would eliminate the need for consumables in the cooling circuit. But they are power hogs. I really don’t have a feel for the cooling capacity required (i.e. delta T and the cfm of air). It could be a Peltier cooler is a great candidate and not much of a burden on the power system, but my gut tells me otherwise.

Thermal systems are not my specialty, but after 20 years in Aerospace, I have become conversant in them. I think Peltier coolers are at best 10% efficient. So if you need 100W of cooling (which isn’t much) you’ll need 1kw of power (which is a lot at 12v). I’d like to know if you find otherwise.

Don’t plan any turbo party around me. My offer of Wednesday evening wasn’t random – it’s the only time I have free through the weekend. The message there is enjoy your freedom while you are still single. I’ll try and catch the FlyingCow at some future event and/or time. If nothing else, I’ll catch up with you when I get my car painted.

Best,
