If anyone has taken their 451 in for an oil change it would be great if you could post what you were charged, local dealer info (SF, Sac, San Jose) would be great but I'd be curious to hear the charges from anywhere for comparison's sake.
TIA
From a variety of postings I have seen there is no consistency from dealer to dealer. The 10,000 mile maintenance does include a few other minor things in addition to the oil change. I have seen postings on the 10,000 mile charge of from $99 to $299. At the Orlando. FL dealership mine was $139.
This has led many to handle oil changes on their own which is understandable. Others of us wish to support the dealer if at all possible.
While I Can't argue that $139 seems like a lot for an oil change and a maintemance service as I posted elsewhere some time ago this is much less than service on my Harley or on my Mini cost.
I can not justify a six hundred mile roundtrip to the dealer for an inspection/oil change. I will do it myself
If i were that far away I would too (or find another place).
That said, I'm not and am hoping to get an idea of what people have been charged so I can see about getting a fair shake if I want to go to a dealer. I am far from 10k and won't be at a year until March, just thinking that it might be a good thing to have done.
My dealer is in Atlanta. I was charged $198 for the 10,000 mile service. They told me the 20,000 mile service would be another $50 because they change the air filter then. I live a 3 hour round trip from the dealer. I decided I would let them do the first two services just in case there is a warranty issue before 24,000 that they know to check. After that, I will do my own. If you've ever changed your own oil and filter, you know it's not a difficult job. I think the oil and filter will cost no more than $50 and take less than an hour, probably 30 minutes.
I just reached 10K and will be calling SF, WC & Sac to compare pricing. I'll post what I find. For comparison this is what I saw in another posting about smart's suggested pricing, but the dealers are free to charge what the market will bear:
10k $139
20k $235
30k $174
40k $279
50k $159
60k $349 (this one is the valve cup check).

Cool, that would be helpful. For me, though, I am nowhere near 10k miles, just considering an oil change at this point really unless there is a reason to get the full service done way early.
