Hello Sunday Drivers!
SOCSF/SCOSF (we can't decide what we are!) is having a run the first Sunday in October, 10/5/08!
This run will include some of the best twisty roads in the bay area, ending up at one of the most authentic British pubs around complete with a Double Decker bus and other amusements.
We'll be traveling roads like Skyline Drive, Highway Nine, La Honda, and others which call to motorcycle and car clubs time and time again.
When: Meet up Sunday, October 5th between 9:00 and 9:30am
Starting Point: Meet in the parking lot at the rear of the Pioneer Hotel and Saloon, which is very close to the "Park-N-Ride" just west of I-280. The address is 2925 Woodside Rd, Woodside, CA, 94062
Please watch your speed through Woodside because it is heavily monitored by the local peace officers, and bikes and pedestrians abound.
Petrol: There is a gas station directly across from the Hotel if you need a fill-up before we get underway.
We'll be leaving the hotel at 10:00 am sharp so we can reach the coast at a proper time for lunch.
Food: You won't need to bring a picnic lunch, since we'll be stopping at Cameron’s Inn & Pub near Half Moon Bay (for lunch, a pint of Guinness or Boddingtons or whatever concoction you may fancy).
Bring your sunscreen, water, a camera or whatever essentials you like for an enjoyable trip. We'll stop at a few spots along the way, for slower cars to catch-up as well buy goodies along the way.
Tune your GMRS/FRS radio to channel 4 subchannel 2 (four-two!) to get up-to-date road conditions and banter with your fellow smarties along the way. You can also reach me by mobile # (PM me if you want the number)
PS: As you may know from previous e-mails and drive announcements, there will be no Mercedes Benz Club sponsored drive in October due to StarFest 2008 being held the weekend before. So it will be just smarts on this one! ;)
