horn replacement

yeh, last weekend i replaced the stock horn with dual air horns, ah what a nice sound.. there are two ways to do this. one is way easier than the other. you can remove the front and bottom panels with torx 20,30 drivers though that will take about a good hour, or if your hands are small enough (mine arent..) you can reach into the drivers side, see the blue and brown wires? those attach to the stock horn which is mounted there on brackets. you just need to figure out how to wire and place the air compressor, run the tubing to the horns and hook it all up in a way that will fit and not get in the way of other bits... i will take some pics later if anyone is interested?

Sure, Starlord. I'd be interested in seeing pics documenting both ways of installing the new dual air horns, especially how you removed the factory horn and mounted the new one along with the wiring connections. Thanks! Gotta be a blast!

Here is everything that you need to know about your horn replacement. Pictures included. The write up is very good and easy to do.

Yes, I'm interested. I would like to eventually install the Euro-characteristic, Hi-Lo, Alternating horn (two-trumpet air horn @ 540Hz - 660Hz). This one is a little lower in frequency and a bit slower: European horn sound effect .

It is distinctive without being anti-social and raucaus.

A lot of the old links are broken; try this.

Two methods for getting at the horn: one is to remove the left front panel, the other is to go in through the left front wheel well.
