I got in. Very cool. I bet it's the MHD, since that's already available.. though it COULD be a diesel. There's pretty rabid interest in the new VW diesels (and MB, but at a higher entry level).

J.D. Power and Associates would like to thank you for your interest in the September 2008 smart Drive Clinic. We were thrilled by the overwhelming interest in this clinic, and as you are already aware all appointments have been filled.

We would like to clarify that the model being tested in this clinic is not a brand new model, but the current model fortwo with subtle changes that are being considered for the future. The input of current owners is invaluable for continuing to provide an excellent vehicle.

As stated before If we can arrange more driving days or if a current participant is unable to attend I will send out another email with the details.

I got in on it, will post some updates (whatever can be described)

I got the additional mail yesterday saying, this WOULDNT be new models, just some tweaks to existing models. Maybe so, maybe not.

However, I DID just get an invite to a daimler hybrid event in October. Maybe they will have a smart hybrid microdrive to show off there. I SHOULD be able to use camera and such at that event, maybe even a Qik show.

yep they will probably have you sign an NDA and not allow for many pics for video, I made an inquiry and got this back:

"The clinic is a private evaluation designed to gather consumer feedback; therefore, there will be no press release, media kit or public release of findings."

Probably just some variants in body styles, interior trim, subtle changes to the ECU or other electronics maybe. I'd still be interested to see what they are speculating about.

well?????? Got an email yesterday stating there was a apt at 1pm in Palo Alto for yesterday? Anyone?

I THINK they were all last week. I did it last Friday. There were others I think on Thurs and over the WE? I have the feeling it is over now. Fun.

replied at 9:45 AM, but by then the extra slot at 1pm was already filled.
