Lombard Participant FAQ/Updates

Hi Folks, I've been getting some emails & pm's regarding the Lombard Rally, so thought I'd start this thread to keep everyone updated!

#1: There's nothing on the photographer's website yet. When will the pictures be ready?
[25Aug08]Check this thread for the latest update:
Update: Lombard Photographer

[19Aug08] I'm waiting for an eta from Jeff, our photographer and will post it here the minute I get it! Understand that he has many, many pictures to sort through and being the professional I know he is, only wants to post the best. Additionally, he has a 4 month old son - so his life is pretty full.

#2: I don't know how to get my pictures. What's the website/password?
[19Aug08] This information is on the 1/2 folded paper in your check-in package. If you can't find it. Send an email to lombardsmartregister@gmail.com with NEED PIX INFO in the subject, from the email account you used to register and I'll get it to you.

#3: I have a signed release form that I never turned in. What should I do with it?
[19Aug08] You should throw it away/shred it. The release form was requested by Peter Atherton for his documentary film (www.smarttrip08.com). The morning of the event, he decided that he did not need them & would prefer to film instead. Should he change his mind, you'll be getting another email from us.

#4: What about a world record?
[19Aug08] Back when we started this, sent an app to Guinness to attempt "Largest Smart Car Parade". It was approved, but turns out the largest parade was 350+ cars, so we didn't have a chance. After the event, one of the participants, V-Mar, submitted a new claim for "Most cars on Lombard St." We will have to wait & see what they say!
Ok, that's it for now. If you have a FAQ you want to see added to this thread, post it below or pm me!

Thanks, Kathy & the Lombard St Committee

If ever Oregon throws a bash, I'm sure they'll use what has to be the difinitive playbook you and your crew created.

For they're all smartie Good fellas,
For they're all smartie Good fellas,
For they're all smartie Good fellaaaaaas,
Which nobody can deny.

Which nobody can deny,
Nobody can deny,

Oh, they're all smartie good fellaaaaaaas,
Which Nobody Can Deny !

Applause, applause, applause...

I know all the Champaign's gone, but I raise my glass to you all.

Filming Release Note

Hi Kathy and Anyone Reading This Thread,
Thought I would clarify a bit by way of an explanation of why I was not able to collect everyone's release. And it's not that I decided I did not need the releases, its just that there was no way for me to stop each participant and collect them and be able to film at the same time. I was able to retrieve a handful of them, but it was time to roll to Lombard before I could collect more. Instead, I made an announcement just after the Police briefing and while the camera was rolling. The announcement in effect said that by participating in the rally, everyone present was giving consent to be filmed unless they specifically asked me not to. On that day, no one asked not to be filmed, and as smart owners tend to be outgoing and gregarious, I found that most people were more than happy to be on camera. In fact, I had the opportunity to interview a few folks one on one. I will most likely need to get releases from those that make final cut, but when individuals are not singled out and a public announcement is made, releases from everyone are not necessary. Sorry for the confusion, though and thanks to everyone who did fill out their release. All the Best- Peter
