smart "micro kamping" with Single wheel trailer

The wife and I took our smart camping up in the Sierra's Gold Country (Back Home) and brought the chow along with us. Thought some of you would like to see photos of the trip, and the vintage single wheel trailer we tow behind us. Posted some of them in my member gallery.

More info

There is more info on the vintage ones available at www.singlewheel.com

Mine is a vintage 1951 Sears Allstate. It has been customized a little, but I have a second 1947 (aprox) Allstate frame I am building into a dedicated camping trailer.

I grew up with these things and remember hauling dirt bikes to the races when I was a kid. I'm still looking for my grandpa's old green camp-trailer... last seen in Nevada City, hint hint...

They have been popular for years with the VW crowd. Try www.TheSamba.com.

I'm waiting on paperwork to have my antique 1951 plates assigned under the YOM (Year of manufacturer) program.

fascinating...

what did you use to bolt to the smart, did you use the pre-existing bolt holes on the bumper, and where did you pick up the bolts (home depot?)???

is that a working break light?

neat stuff!
