Yeah, I think that the Colt that's it's based off of is a MUCH nicer looking car.

It's not though, the chassis is the same as the Colt, which is a Mitsubishi design and not a tridion. It's tests well, but it's not a true smart.

Random thought: Seeing how it is FWD, perhaps someone can adapt the front rotors of a forfour to the RWD arrangement of a fortwo using its REAR brackets to mount the front rotors of a 4 on a 2???

I don't know about you guys but I think that the forfour is a pretty nice looking car!

Especially with that red interior.

This is the only car I've seen that didn't have the model type stuck somewhere on the car.

Maybe if they did, people would stop calling it a smart CAR.
You mean like they used to on the previous model (450) of the ForTwo?

Exactly... Our 451s are missing a name badge like some other imports.

I do get a tad irritated when someone calls a smart fortwo a SMART CAR. I mean, it's not like you call a Chevy Corvette ZR1 a CHEVY CAR!

The forfour has the Smart styling, and that would help differentiate it from a Yaris or Fit in the parking lot, but otherwise, it's a lot like them. Even with all of the other characteristics Smart owners love about the car, the forfour doesn't have the same kind of fun appeal of the fortwo.

Seems like having a Corvette or a Porsche with an automatic transmission and a baby's car seat strapped in it. Still nice cars, but takes a lot of the fun out of it.

Well the marketing idea behind the forfour was "Why do all cars look the same?".

They seemed to have certainly solved that problem...

I use to see the forfour the same way as you guys until I bought one and everything change, it´s a great car and if you look one "alive" it´s a very pretty car, his driving its very solid and the equipment it´s great with 4 airbags, ABS, ESP, softouch gear (same feeling as the fortwo but faster), double sunroof, adjustable rear seat, premium sound with sub woofer, on board computer, real top speed 180 km/hr (118 miles/hr), sporty steering wheel with bottoms control for computer and audio, comparing with the fortwo the forfour have a much more quality interiors
Ask Alsrac, he has the chance to drove it at Chapala, well few blocks at last , Regards from Guadalajara!

Yes, YoGT is right, the Forfour, might not look like a Smart, except for the 2 tone color, but it shifts and drives like a Smart, I loved it, thanks YoGT for letting me drive your awesome car.
Here are more pictures of YoGT’s wife sweet ride:
