175's on the front stock wheels.

Hey I got a question for anyone that can help me, I have looked all over the forums and am wondering if I get 175/55/15 Blizzak's for the front tires, will that work? Or will I need a wider rim? The rims in the front are 4.5" while the backs are 5.5"

From what I have read on the forums, it is appearing that this won't work, but I could not find a CLEAR answer via searching.

I wish I didn't have to pose this question, as I planned on getting the Prielli's with the offset, but tire rack has them backordered (all of a sudden), and I need them NEXT week!

Tire Rack has the Blizzak's in 145/65-15 which will fit the front rims perfectly. Mine are waiting to be installed as we speak.

It appears on a tire calculator these will only perform 0.4% slower which the EPS won't notice. Looks like I will have to modify my Discount Tire order, which I placed this morning.

I had the same question --and i remembered that randy did put a 175 on the front -i have heard back from him that he has had no problems with using a 175 on oem front rim--hope this helps
btw i put blizzak 175's on all 4 - but i also used rial rims-but will replace the front oem with a 175 -i like the ride better with the larger front

Thanks, I looked at some of randy's posts and while I didn't find the one where he states using the 175's on the front, he believes that it works.

Well I will make a call to the company who I ordered tires from today and potentially change my order to putting 145's in the front vs the 175's in the front. It seems like putting 175's on the stock front wheel is for a temporary solution just due to he width of the rims. I'll have to see what the sell the 145's for.

Another bonus, they're $16 less per tire than the 175/55-15's.
