And the four rears have no clearance problems? I was considering this, but I was concerned for not only clearance, but that the wider fronts would cause the vehicle to start 'tracking' the grooves in the road like the wide tires on my Corvette do.
Personally, I'd like to widen up the rears to fill the wheel wells and then move the existing rears to the fronts.
Perhaps going to 16's on the rears and then moving the existing rears forward but keeping them at 15"? That way I'd only have to buy four rims and two tires.
I still like the thought of the 3 spoke whites with black slats.
When I put my "4-rear" tire/wheel package together I looked at the mounted fronts and was a little unsure that they wouldn't scrub a panel. So far in 1500 miles with one and two people, Interstate, back-road and city driving there hasn't been one incident of it happening. Now that is with stock rims, not sure the rims here are the same offset, width and of course, with these Michelin tires.
I added the tirerack three spoke wheels to my smart with the larger tires. It looks awesome and I have received many compliments on their looks. The larger tires also make a difference in driving on the highway, much more stable and less wandering. For some reason I cannot attach pics.
I have the 16" 3 spoke on mine and Yokohama s-drive tires they recomend and what a difference it handles soooo gooood! I had my painter paint the inserts gray to match my car. If you want to see what it looks like on a c
smart look on my profile I have a picture of it. Bob.
