And BRABUS INTERNATIONAL FOR SMART makes a hub centric spacer that is for widening the rear track of the car while using same size wheels and tires allowing for wider rear arches. I have not decided what I am going to do yet, but at this point I think I would like to follow the guide of the staggered 17" rear and 16" front from the Brabus Euro format, if I can find the rear arches. FOR SHOW ONLY, and then get spacers and regular set up for driving...

If you go to Smart.com (NOT USA) site and choose international and then BRABUS, the spacers and wheels are there.

Many Jeep owners use them for the extra space, we drive our rigs hard and as long as you buy a quality set you have nothing to worry about. I have 1.5 spacers on my Commander.

Counterfeit cheap imitation spacers and adapters should be avoided... that said, there are TUV approved spacers and adapters for the Smart

Germany TUV approval makes our NHTSB and DoT approval system look easy... They are seriously more engineering and technically competent in TUV... our system never really checks...they only write some specification or restriction and leave manufacturers to self approve and certify...

I would not hesitate for one second to use the TUV approved 3 to 5 lug spacer adapter on a Smart fortwo.... BUT I would never consider an E-bay items at 1/3rd the cost... most likely a cheap imitation with questionable materials used.
