One mod that I absolutely did way too late....the good ol' two rear stock wheels/tires to replace the fronts.

The difference is amazing along with my Eibachs. Less fear when going through bumps and dips. Braking feels much better (wider rubber on the fronts). Turn-ins are more stable. And of course the so called highway-side-weaving feeling is minimized.

I definitely want fatter wheels than stock. Volk 13x8 TE-37's would be my first pick, if they'd fit, but i can't even get them in the US.
Any other choices out there? I haven't even got the car yet, so no "biggie"; just looking, because that's the first thing I'll change. Gocart! :number1

Heh, If I'd of known the back tires fit the front fine, I'd of not gotten this Rial front "spare" from tire rack. It'd make tire rotation so much easier.

I just may do the back tires for the front trick..

My brother is the owner of AutoMonde 3-piece wheels. He is talking about making a new wheel for the smart... We'll see...

I have weighed the front and rear wheels (2008 OEM 9 spoke w/o sensors) with tires installed. Tire Rack says the OEM tires weigh 14# front and 16# rear. My fronts weigh 24.2# and the rears weigh 30.2#, so I calculate the wheels to weigh 10.2 and 14.2 #s each. The tires have about 4500 miles wear, if they weigh a bit less than new tires, the wheels would be about 10 1/2 and 14 1/2 each.

Like the wheels you have in the picture.. I hate spokes period and want moon domes.. something solid. Where did you get yours? Any ideas?

You got all this just by putting the same size tires on the front as bacK? No special mods or considerations needed to do this?
