Anyone have pics of 15in Genius wheels....

installed on their SMART?.... Thinking about going with 15in rather than 17in to keep ride smoother.... would appreciate info on tire sizes for 15x5.5 and 15x6.5 set-up as well.... I want something wider than my stock tires that fit this set-up.

Thanks.

I'll have some pictures and an evaluation in about a week.

I bought a set of the 15" black Genius wheels. I'm mounting my OEM 175/55R15 rear tires on the new front wheels, and a pair of P195/50R-15 Goodyear Eagle GT-HR on the rear. This is the same tire size mix as the Pulse models. The Genius front wheels are 1/2" wider than the Pulse wheels.

We carry Genius wheels in stock for the smart.

Right now the entire Genius line is sold out. We have 17" wheels arriving on April 2nd or 3rd. We've also located sets of rear 15" wheels (Gunmetal with a polished lip) and will be offering them as a set of 4 (15x6.5) for those that want to have a wider wheel in the front (same as rear). We've had a lot of requests for that. We expect them to arrive by this Wednesday. If you would like more info give us a buzz at 562-961-6800.

Here is a link to the product:

Smart Madness - Smart Car Parts and Accessories

As always we offer the lowest price guarantee on these and every other wheels we offer.

Thank you.

SmartMadness -- I spent HOURS trying to identify tire sets that would work for the 15" wheels. It would be VERY helpful if you would publish a list of staggered tire sizes that:

1. Are wider than the OEM tires (what fun is it to just buy another set of skinny tires!!) but still fit in the OEM fenders. I really want the widest tires I can get on the 15" rims!

2. Are a close match in height/circumference so that the traction control doesn't yell at me. The online tire calculators work OK, but it's a PITA to find a nice match and then learn that nobody sells that size! I wouldn't mind up to 10% bigger/smaller than the OEM tires.

3. Are available from the same manufacturer (I've mixed Contis and Goodyear, but whenever I replace the tires I'd like a matched set). What OEM tires are on the Pulse? I haven't found a tire that's available in both Pulse sizes.

4. I prefer all season tires, but summer tires with a reasonable amount of snow traction would be fine.

Thanks.

15x6 wheels with 195/50 tires is perfect for the smart IMHO - nice stance, meaty tires, but not too much. Anything wider up front, and I think it would look overdone. This setup is flush at the top of the arch. The 195/50 plays well with all the smart systems being a very, very close match and is readily available from multiple tire manufacturers in all-season, summer performance, etc.

I'm getting ready to do my first 4 tire rotation at 5K miles on this setup and it has performed flawlessly on the smart in various conditions (road trips, snow, daily commute, twisty back roads, etc.) and improves the ride.
