Anyone Powdercoat Their OEM Wheels?

If and when I get a set of REAR 15x5.5 Passion alloys to put on all four corners (so I can rotate, etc...), I was thinking about having them "Powdercoated".

I'm familiar with the process, I would just like some feedback from those of you who have had it done....Pros and Cons, Colors, etc.

Hey, pics would be nice too!

I haven't had it done to mine, but the ones I have seen have been very nice if they are glossy or matte. I have only seen them in black though.

Mine are powdercoated.
Have it for about a year and still looks like new.

Pros: durable, factory like finish and quality. Fairly cheap (I found the guy in Orlando, who powdercoat the wheels for $50/each single color and $75/dual color)

Cons: It might be tricky to match it to the body panels. At least the guy I used just showed the swatches with few shades of red. I am still happy with results.

cube, babybenz....I've seen both of yours and they DO look awesome! I actually got the idea from this forum.

I found a place locally that seems to be very reasonable. Just trying to decide 'if' it's worth the expense.

As for color, I have something in mind which I think will look great with the White/Black on my smart. This will be something that I'll have to 'save my allowance' for and get it done 'down the road'.......

Over a year on mine now, see photos for what they look like in white. Only problems I have had are 1) those darn front brake pads turn them very dirty in just a few miles. 2) when the gas overflows (I know not supposed to overfill) and it spills on the RR rim it gets kinda grungy and I haven't found anything that removes it. Yes, I tried Simple Green and NO it didn't work.

My front alloys looked tatty after 4 years of brake dust, so had them done last year, they are superb and can't recommend it enough, they are now easy to clean with just a soft sponge, and I changed from silver to black, and I like the change.
