Do standard REAR wheels FIT on the FRONT?

Howdy all.

I know lots of smart owners have put rear TIRES onto the front wheels?

But, the original poster said he wants to put REAR WHEELS on the FRONT?

Do standard REAR wheels (pure steel or passion spoked) FIT on the FRONT?

I was under the impression that there was either a clearance/rubbing issue due to different offsets?

(I know you can fit FRONT wheels onto the rear, I have one as a spare)?

The answer is YES, you can. In fact I had lunch today with a friend of mine from SCOA (wildman) and he had done just that.....put the OEM rear Passion wheels on the front. He went with the 175/55R15's as well, same as the rear. I've heard and seen some with 185/60R15's all the way around too.

Great for improving your ride AND rotating 'front to back'......

There are pros and cons to both painting and powder coating. If you paint them they are more susceptible to chipping but it is easier to repair the chipped spot. If you ding up a powder coated wheel, you have to redo the whole wheel. I am painting mine with several coats of clear for a little extra protection since I don't put on as many miles as most.

I wanted powder coated but finding a local shop to both get the wheels chemically stripped and do the powder coat wasn't coming together right so they ended up painted instead.

Whatever you do, don't bead-blast the wheels if you're powder coating. The blasting will often embed some of the beads in the wheels' aluminum alloy; the beads pop out during the bake making for ugly little spots.
