Sorry.... BUT, I could care less about PAG approval...
The wheels in question are MB smart roadster "spikelines" built to MB specs for the smart line.
Mercedes Benz is the manufacturer and the folks who cover the 2/24 warranty.
MB has approved the 3 to 5 lug adapters... they are sold by Smart dealers in several countries.
IN fact, MB approves the use of other 3, 4 and 5 lug Mercedes rims.
MB approves all Brabus (a third party) re-maps, suspension modifications and wheel options. MB also apporoves of the Lornsner (a third party) body, suspension, wheel, and motor modifications.
The problem we have here, that has PAG involved, is that PAG is the importer and PAG had to go through the DoT and EPA approval process...
MB is in Germany and subject to the TUV (similar to our DoT). All the things I said above about Brabus and Lornsner are TUV approved.
PAG and the smart Center dealers will not get these specific items because they do not want to pay the bond to get them certified. So they lie and tell the dealers the items are not offered because it will void the warranty.
MB approves the items and Magnuson Moss gives up cover too. PAG's only involvment is a refusal to source the items here at smart center dealers.
Good... I am sure plenty of sources will fill the void eventually, and to tell the truth I am not keen on Dealer inflated prices any way!
