Front Discs?

Has anyone installed the EBC discs? If so, did you go with "Drilled and Grooved" or the "Ultimax"? Looking to upgrade the discs to goo with my GreenStuff pads.

I'm not sure you can readily get the Ultimax in the US. It took me about 2 months to finally get them in hand (USR923) only by adding on to a regular shipment the distributor got from their UK partner after I was mistakenly shipped the others from the domestic warehouse. The Gold series -3(?)GD923 - are the variety more commonly available. I think the GDs would perform better but the reading I did suggested the Ultimax rotors were inherently more quiet. I wasn't looking for higher performance but a little added insurance particularly when the brakes get wet.

We stock and sell the EBC rotors and pads and have had great luck with them so far.

You don't appear to have the Ultimax rotors the original poster was also asking about - EBC part number USR923 - nor do you appear to carry EBC redstuff (or blackstuff) pads.

You have some EBC rotors and pads, not the EBC rotors and pads.

It took me a while to find where the EBC rotors were on your site.

In the future just type in "EBC" in the search function (upper right side of every page) and it will take you right to them.

We carry, the most common and the most requested EBC parts in stock. If needed we can special order the others. All someone needs to do is drop us a call or an email.

Thank you

I have to agree with smart madness that a supplier tends to carry what sells, not every possible variation.
For example,if you type EBC into the search function on this forum, you'll see a recent post of mine that includes a photo , taken in my basement, of red, black and green pads and turbogroove rotors. Those are in stock.
Why those ....because people order them

I can also order in and supply the other EBC rotors ( orinary as well as Ultimax), as well as OEM , ATS and Bosch rotors and/or pads.
Unfortunately the adage that if you stock it, it will sell does not always hold true

I think you'll see that several suppliers carry greenstuff pads, as they are by far the most popular, and IMHO the best value for the majority of smarts. Not too many carry any others, and I may phase out those that do not sell

Sorry for coming across rude but:

I don't give a CRAP about what suppliers carry relative to this requested discussion. I applaud suppliers for carrying what customers want. I appreciate that some vendors can get items that aren't stock.

The original poster asked about a comparison between the two rotors. I mentioned my experience with the Ultimax and suggested the GD is probably a little better performing. Your competitor mentioned they have the EBC rotors. NOT according to the REQUESTED discussion. They have one EBC rotor.

I appreciate that there are suppliers that have these items available. I don't particularly appreciate the "Buy from Me" posts when the vendor doesn't carry all the items that are pertinent to the discussion. If someone is asking about the difference, they're doing their OWN research and trying to help form the basis of "what customers want."

Fair enough, and well put.
I am not sure that you will get the feedback you are looking for on this forum, as the smarts are relatively new to the US .
You might have better luck getting user feedback on a Canadian forum ,such as www.clubsmartcar.com, as the folks north of the border have had a few years more to experiment and try out different things
