Front tire and rim

Hi there yall .. i am thinking of putting a set of front tires and rims on the rear of the car for low rolling resistances and lighter weight.
any idea how that would effect the handling of the car versus the fuel savings?

Have Engineers at Smartville/Europôle come up with different wheels sizes fore and aft just to make our life more difficult? Or was it for some reason? Just wondering...

My layman's guess is that they have fatter tires in the back to put up with the heavier rear load.

it would give it a bit lighter feel, it all depends how heavy your foot is, the positive is you would be able to switch out and rotate and get more use and wear from the tire. Good News, I have 2 new fronts with wheels, tires and sensors; the dealership wants $897, I'm selling for $550 plus s/h. The tires still have the little thingys on them, about 800 miles of use-MINT!

Probably would make the car less stable with thinner wheels in the back.

If you read the history of the launch of smart 10 years ago. They had to stop production due to how unstable the car was and the fact that they were rolling over! Because of this they missed their launch date. One of the fixes was the wider tires in the back as well as some suspension fixes and wheel bases adjustments. I wouldn't recommend it.

$2/gal gas coming to a station near you, why mess with the Smart, time for a Hummer H2 with 38" tires.

It shold loosen the rear a little or reduce understeer, it could be a problem stability wise in a extreme situation.
I been thinking about 4 fronts on 155 snow tires for better snow traction.
