Had some fun with the Hubcaps.

I used my Smart 451 keychain for inspiration. Its a toy i keep on the side so did not feel like dropping $ on proper wheels for 4 months a year (canada)

The result. Not sure if i like it but its growing on me, and others who have seen it.

Process: scuffed them up with some Scotch brite. Taped up the two silver signs on the center. Sprayed them gloss black at a bodyshop. Removed the tape and bought some Yellow Vinyl to stick on and left the silver as is.

Sorry for the crappy pics i took these REALLY fast.

Next Step:
Smoke the tail lights, tint the windows and MAY smoke the headlights. Not sure about the headlights though.

I was about to say, that's too nice of a job to be rattle can. Great job - looks VERY nice. I've got a car that is the exact same color as the smart, but it isn't a smart.

PS - Don't smoke the headlights - paint them. Not the lenses - the chrome part. There's threads here dedicated to it.

Thank you

Yeah the Dupont cans can have some amazing effect if you prep them well. Look for Plastic primer and try and sand them down as clean as possible then try and paint them in some sort of "sealed" plastic area with heat. The results are kick ass sometimes!

It was more than worth the effort.

Custom look without the custom price

Never knocking spray bombs at all. While living in a few underprivileged countries I've done whole panels with a rattle can before with near professional gun results.

hahahah what are the odds of two people having the same idea?
Scuff yours up and bring em to a paintshop they shouldnt charge you more than 75$ to do all four including vinyl. Luckily for me they are friends so was free.

Hmm that might look good on my little red smart. I'm wanting to see about painting them black but instead of highlighting the smart logo apply a red "cherry bomb" symbol on them. I'll have to hit up the vinyl/sign shops to see if anyone can do that along with some nice black stripes to go along the hood. :-D
