No spare tire, jack or wheel wrench come with the car. They provide a 12V air pump and a pressure can of emergency tire repair goop, which you will find in the foam block under the carpet, beneath the passenger footrest.

If your puncture cannot be repaired, you will have to do some hunting for a replacement tire. Maybe there is a smart car sales center in your region.

Good luck!

You can get a tire and wheel at Discount tire. The wheel wont match but is good for a spare. Call smart madness for a lug wrench and jack kit

Many high-end cars don't have spares. Some have goo-kits, some have run-flats.

I use an OEM rear steel rim from a Pure as a spare which I store behind the driver's seat. A jack, lug wrench and other items to change the wheel are placed in the tail gate storage area. Tire Rack can provide the tire and a neat cover/carrying tote for the spare that is very handy.

For those of us with a larger frame, there is not enough room behind the seat for anything. My wife used my car and moved the seat forward, a pair of ski gloves fell behind the seat, When I put the seat back, it wouldn't go far enough because of the gloves. No way a tire would fit back there!! For a majority of owners, a spare never gets used. BUT.. if you frequent long trips driving late nights or roads with little to no traffic, I could see the security of a spare. I'd just pick up the car and carry it...

That's something I've been wanting to know... The guy at the Discount tire here keeps telling me that my tires are run-flats. Now I KNOW they are an option on the MINI, but are they on smarts too?? He's said that the last three times I've gone there to have my air pressure checked.

What brand of tires do you have? This is the first I've heard of run flats on a smart.

The OEM Continentals are certainly not run-flats.
