If you'd go so far as to get a spare cluster, you'd probably be better off getting the dealer to turn the light off via their computer.

The cluster really is simple to work with as noted by all the folks doing custom graphics. It's 45 minutes of your life but I like to think the cruise control LED installation video is a good watch, showing the instrument cluster removal, disassembly, and replacement. (See mvaldes' response #4 above for the link)

I finally got the video loaded. Maybe I'll try it when my schedule slows-I'm on company travel for the next 4 weeks, and my 'honey-do' list won't leave me much time to play with the car. Thanks for all your assistance, and be assured that eventually I will try it.
