Jack for Smart

I went to a salavage yard today and picked up a jack out of a Passat that works perfectly. It has a gap for the pinch weld to keep it aligned and lift from right behind the pinch weld. Also will probably fit nicely inside the spare tire but haven't tried it yet, waiting for my bag lady bag. You should be able to find one on ebay for fairly cheap. I got it for free because of another transaction going on but I figure you can score one for $20.

I knew it should work since it's identical to the ones shown to work from Mercedes models. The Merc model has aluminum body acording to some one here, the VW one is steel.
If it can pick up a 3500 pound car it will work very well with the 1800 lb smart.

Don't know about aluminum on the benz, I have a C230 and it's steel as far as I can tell. The VW's are a lot more popular in the salvage yards, hence a better price.

Also picked up a Mr Lugnut, it's similar to the Gorilla Wrench someone else bought but at $9.99 at Walmart, it's a better deal than the guy on ebay that wants about $35 shipped. It telescopes to 21" so you get good leverage. I'll just put a 15mm socket on it and be done with it. Comes with a plastic pouch to store it in.
