Murdered-out AMG Smart - Rims mocked up

Got the new tires mounted on the new wheels today, and set them in place to get a look at them. (My adapters aren't finished yet..) We transferred the Smart pressure sensors to the new wheels with no problem.

Pics are at: http://zenspeed.com/smartwheels.html

They're 17" OEM Mercedes C Class "Sport wheels, powder coated gloss black. 7.5 front, 8.5 rear. 195/45 and 225/40 Pirelli P-Zero Nero's.

I'm making custom 3 to 5 lug adapters, 22.4mm in the back, 25.5mm in the front, to match the specific offsets of these rims. (I'm sacrificing 24mm of clearance in the front, and 32mm of clearance in the back. Tight, but it should be fine, and keep the outer edge tucked as much as possible, even with these staggered rims.

Talk amongst yourselves...

Johnny

I hate you.

(and of course I say that because because I'm jealous and my car still looks like your "wimpy" before shot...)

OK, now I get it. I think you win, that's one of the best looking fortwo's in the US.

Thanks for the visual ride.

Wow, thanks! Wait until you see the sport bike "Slip-on" canister exhaust I'm working on!

Cheers,

Johnny

you had me until the rims were added...

not a fan of that style...like your concept

I am big AMG Lingenfelter fan and think of Brabus like I think of Eddie Bauer

DID a Black on black on black zero color 300ZX

limo tint..balck leather...blacked out lights (Thanks VHT spray color)

Do they even still make that black, over spray, that the lights shine through?

Virginia State Patrol hated that car..

Funny that I sold it to a VA Stater....

Johnny, not my cup of tea but who cares - an admirable project. Any idea how much weight the new rims & tires add to the smart?

I find it interesting. So is the flat black easier to keep clean than the gloss black?
