New wheels?

Apperently you can get new rims when you go pick you smart up from the dealership. Check out this car's rims!

Those look like hubcaps on the steel wheels ... dealer says no optional rims the first year are available per Penske.

They had white, black, red, and blue wheels shaped like the regular ones, then those red ones.

Yep look like they are colored plastic hub caps for the steelees...

Dallas Smart is powder coating the orphan rims and even doing two tone... but I have it on good authority they are real proud of the process and charging two or thre times what you can have it done for....

I thought it was powder coating. Yea, like $1000. It will look nice, but your paying for it. Any idea where in DFW you can get it done? And for how much?

I love the two tone power coat wheels on the dealer's showroom cars but they are way to pricey for me to get it done there.

I know in the metroplexmini club some of the members had theirs done at

I haven't check into it just yet but it's in my to do list in the future. I've heard they do a pretty good job.

They are in Garland.

A risky investment. Remember back in the day when all cars had hub caps/wheel covers? Very easy to steal. I'm surprised Smart didn't incorporate the lug nut/bolt on feature into the design of the wheel cover like the old Hondas etc.

imo those are butt ugly wheels/hubcaps. i am going aftermarket 17's using a 3-5 lug adapter. not sure about springs as of yet. wheel spacers are a must.
