Possible Wheel's for the 451 (some Pictures)

hello again!

the weather is becoming nicer every day here in good old germany and some of us are getting their new wheels for the summer - me and my girlfriend included.

as i see, you americans are very interestet in other rims on the 451 too. well - now wonder with this small, boring stock-wheels that smart is offering.
to give you a slight look on that, what's possible on the 451, i'm going to post new pics and data of our and some others wheels...

first of all there are of course rims with 3 holes specially made for smart. sadfully they are mostly very expensive and also limited in design and size.
so some tuners are offering "Adaptions-Distanzscheiben" - i don't know, if there is a similar word in englisch so i would call them "Adapter-Plates".
with them you could drive any aftermarket rim with 5 holes - for example rims for vw/audi/mercedes with 112mm diameter.
here a picture of such alloy-plates...

i hope you understand what i mean?

as i said you could drive a very large range of rims with that. the only thing that should be well calculated, is the "ET - Einpresstiefe" - you call that "offset" as i think?
the offset of the rims should be about 48-50mm, because the rim plus the plate must get the same (or nearby same) offset as the original-wheels.
for example a rim with an offset of 50mm plus the plate with 20mm the offset, what is needed...

ok - you would see some.
i ordered these Momo Corse Black 7,5x17" ET48, wich i should get next week:

my girlfriend ordered Brock RC Design RC11 7,5x17" ET48:

smart-IN, greetings from California! I note the picture of the "adapter" is 3-hole to 3-holes. That actually makes it a "spacer" in American terms. Do you have photos of a 3-hole to 5-hole wheel adapter?

Actually, I don't care for the styles of wheels with assymetric spokes. In this case it looks like the wheel is designed is to emulate rotation (counter-clockwise). It might look appropriate on the left side, but not the right. No matter what you do, one side or the other will always be "backwards."

ok - and now to the mose extreme that i've seen till now - but really not the best looking in my eyes.....

Tomason TN 1 8,5x18 ET45!

i guess, it got no comfort left and as the owner said once, the big rims are the cause of about 10km/h less topspeed!

totally agree and the only reason i didn't buy those wheels. you would expect L and R applications for a wheel as pricey as this one.
