Or how about everything to do with the safety, quality and health concerns about the un-regulated crap flowing out of China? Read a newspaper in the last couple years?

I'll wait for the pipeline to fill with better choices before considering a change, and it certainly won't be to a substanially heavier wheel just for the looks.

Just my opinion, of course.

Interesting theory, but not the case I believe.

Quality (pg 152)

No discussion of the marketing/operations interface would be complete without a consideration of quality. The birth of the quality movement in Japan after WWII is well known. At that time, there was almost universal disdain in the West for the”Made in Japan” label.
Many of us who were around in the 50s and early 60s remember the general perception of Japanese goods as cheap and poorly built.

I live over here next to China and have to see their crap floating in the Sea and breathe their polluted yellow air, but I digress.

Your post implies that I said something about China. My post was regarding Japanese products and MY opinion about why people didn't want to buy Made in Japan 50 years ago. Why am I explaining myself

Isn't this a Smart Car Forum??? there has been alot of Racial remarks lately. My family was brought here as slaves in the 1800's, but there is no bitterness. If Smartfortimo has had a bad experience with Chinese products, this is not the place to voice it, I am sure will all have had experiences with various countries products, but life goes on and it's sad that people still have prejudices.

Ya, so has anyone even looked at my question? This guy is right. Go to WWII forum to talk about that crap. Does anyone have a link to the weight of the rims on the front and back of the smart. Can't seem to find it on the smart website. And as for quality. I have seen good quality come from China and bad. Depends on what you order, who makes and what not. But I am looking for a price. I am sure these rims would do just fine. I don't plan on doing any Nascar so I am sure they would hold up fine for normal driving.
