Smart can turn your TPMS (error message) off.. (non stock wheels, no sensors)
I went into a Smart Dealer (cerritos) this past weekend to get a 2.0 upgrade. After it was taken care of, the manager informed me that there was a TMPS error message that kept going off, I asked what they did and they said they simply turned it off.
Now I don't know the legality of all this, but I don't have the TPMS in right now. When I bought my aftermarket rims, the rim lip got in the way and so there was a leak. I ended up putting normal valve stems in. So the end result, the TPMS warning is off, and I am now responsible for my tire pressure.
THATS MORE LIKE IT!!!

Lucky, my warning light keeps coming on for 60 seconds when I am at freeway speeds. (60 seconds means an error in the system) I should try to do this as well.

I did not know this was allowed. I would keep it on the down low, if the EPA and DOT find out they may come after you with a tire pressure gauge and compressed air. God forbid people to have to maintain and keep up with a vehicle all by themselves, got to have a light for every little thing. Seriously how hard is it to check tire pressure once a month...sorry for the rant, I hate that every car has to have TPMS now. Drove me crazy back when I had to deal with the light on and people too lazy to check and correct themselves, they deserve to have worse MPG's and worn out tires.

Forgot about those people. Sue because the airbag that saved their life burnt their arm.

Or what about the people suing because their seatbelt bruised/broke a rip while keeping them from flying into the windshield...

I read through it at least 3 times and the previous post makes about as much sense to me as the quote above. I have no idea where a thought ends and another begins so I have no way to mentally correct typing or grammar mistakes.
Huh?
