i am soooooooooooooo pleased that i have a UK spec car that does not have that system on it (or hope it doesn't, i prefer to check pressures myself as dont trust an auto system)

English?

I have a draem...no a deram...ahh a dream!

If it was stock, I wouldn't have liked that to happen. TPMS can be useful if it's not going haywire.

In Driver's Ed I drove a 2008 Chevy Equinox and its TPMS sensors told which tire was the culprit on the DIC screen in the instrument cluster.

Maybe smart should incorporate a similar concept?

No you dont get a spare wheel over here with the car but you get an electric pump with a bottle of sealer if you get a flat tyre.

Would be nice to have a spare but where would you put it??

Just asking question first thing you do if you see tire alarm in your dash.

Same here... we got the pump but, tpms helps monitor tires preasure for safe driving.

The spare can go behind the passenger seat.

Having TPMS, by the way, does not preclude checking the tire pressures manually with a gauge. I do that, but also have the TPM system which is very useful since it does alert you if the pressures are getting too low, or if there is a fast leak while driving which can be a safety feature and save both your skin and the tire's.
In fact, I have bought after market Pressre Monitoring systems that I insall on the valve stems of other vehicles. My preference is the type that continually, or with a press of a button, tell you exactly what pressure the tire has. This way, as well, you can monitor the increased pressure while driving which can tell you whether the cold pressure was set properly. For general driving, a 10% increase in hot pressure is what to look for. If the increase is appreciably greater then the cold pressures are too low, and if the increase is less then they are probably too high.
