Snow tires, spare tires, and bears, oh my

I live in .... the middle of no-where (2 /12 hours from the Smart Dealership). Although most of our driving is fairly local with the car, the idea of us getting stuck with a flat and no spare is bothersome Plus the rear and front are different widths, so you can't buy a spare tire and rim and know it will fit...

A few questions.....

Anyone use the gooey stuff inside the tire for a flat? How does that work and how long can you drive on it?

Can our local tire guy put this puppy up on a lift and fix a tire or replace a tire, or is their some crazy tools and lift that are needed that only a dealer has?

If we needed a spare, does Tirerack sell the OEM Continental tires in the correct size?

Is there any aftermarket jack and toolkit for the Passion that would allow us to buy a spare and replace it ourselves?

thanks !!!

Djinn

A 451 wheel will fit front or rear; a 450 front will fit the rear but not vice versa.

Dunno.

You have to be careful not to crack the plastic belly pan.

Yes.

The defunct 454 forfour had a spare, jack and lug bolt wrench: (P/N A4545800118). That may work on a fortwo. Otherwise, Caterham USA sells a very small scissor jack: http://www.uscaterham.com/.

thanks !!!
