Tire pressure issues

I've had the car three weeks and had the light come on three times. Today is the third time while my wife was driving home. Each time one tire (different ones) has been 5 PSI outside of the norm.

Anybody else having this kind of problem? Leaky aluminum wheels perhaps? I know aluminum wheels lose air, but I shouldn't have to put air in the tires every week.

Mine came on for the first time today and I could not get it to reset. As it turns out my LR tire was down about 10PSI due to a nail. Now I have to scramble to get it fixed before a road trip on Friday

I have had this issue with one particlar tire. I am keeping an eye on it. I don't think it is damaged, but the light has come on a few times and I have had to add air.

They may not have been mounted properly. Take it to the dealer to be checked, or to another tire shop if you can't get to a dealer. Improper mounting should be under warranty, which only gets covered at the dealer. But checking/remounting tires is cheap at any shop.

No tire pressure problems here. When I first got the car the pressures were above spec. I lowered them to the recommended psi in the morning when the air is cool and the car hadn't been driven. Then restarted the TPMS to calibrate the system (see Manual page 194). Pressures have remained the same and the warning light has not come on for 10 weeks.

I get a kick out of how the manual devotes 10 pages to tire description, codes, speed ratings, etc.......is not like there's a wide selection of tires beyond oem that you can put on your smart, and any speed rating exceeds smarts maximum speed. And yeah, why didn't they use a tire and load infromation placard from a fortwo as an example (p186, 187)......and is there any question as to what the seating capacity of a fortwo is??
